Top Ten Tuesday – Authors I Want to Meet at RT Convention Dallas 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here by the The Broke and the Bookish.  Each week, there is a new Top Ten list that The Broke and the Bookish and other bloggers will answer. If you want to join in the book-related fun, feel free. Just be sure to link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget over at The Broke and the Bookish so that others can find your post and you can find other. Because really, what’s better than talking books with kindred souls?

This week’s prompt is Ten Authors I REALLY Want To Meet.  This was actually kind of a hard post for me because I have been very fortunate to meet several of my very favorite authors (Neil Gaiman, Ilona Andrews, Ann Aguirre, even George RR Martin).  Given that I am currently in Dallas for the RT Convention, I chose to focus this blog on the 10 authors I hope to meet at this year’s convention.  (I’d also like to point out – the RT Convention is a fantastic place to meet and actually get to know a whole bunch of authors.) Here are 10 authors I’m hoping to meet at this year’s convention:

  1. Rachel Caine

Because I want to ask about Ink and Bone (which I just read and is fantastic) and when we can expect the next book in The Great Library (and how many there will be).

  1. Kresley Cole

Because even after numerous books the Immortals After Dark series continued to entertain.

  1. Carolyn Crane

Because the The Disillusionists trilogy was one of the most unique urban fantasy books I’d read in a long time.

  1. Sylvia Day

Because she took what was truly a horrible book and created something similar but sooo much better. Plus, she’s written some other really great and very sexy stuff too.

  1. Megan Hart

Because at a convention about romance novels you have to have some naughty with your nice. Also, I love most of her book covers too.

  1. Eloisa James

Because Eloisa is a pro at writing a classic romance novel.  Desperate Duchesses was one of my first entries into the world of regency romance and I loved it.

  1. Susanna Kearsley

Because my book club read Mariana a few years ago and there are still questions some of the girls would like to ask.

  1. Diana Rowland

Because she writes about a white trash zombie, worked in a morgue, and I want to talk to her about iZombie.

  1. Kristin Secorsky

Because she’s a friend of a friend and seems to be a big Game of Thrones fan.

  1. Anna Todd

Because I keep seeing her books recommended and I’d love to know more about the mind that created them.

So these are the ten authors I’m hoping to meet and spend some time with at RT 2015. What authors do you want to meet?
